The DDR programme during Phase I will target the following special groups:
  • Children Associated with Armed Forces and Groups:
    • All children under the age of 18 demobilised and removed from armed forces and groups in Sudan.
    • Children associated with armed forces and groups returned to families as part of family tracing and reunification for separated children.
    • Inclusive community-based reintegration for vulnerable children implemented.
    • Monitoring and prevention of recruitment and re-recruitment carried out.
  • Women Associated with Armed Forces and Groups:
    • Women associated with armed forces and groups identified, screened and registered.
    • Strategies for effective support for their reintegration designed.
    • Urgent protection cases addressed.
    • Special needs of WAAFG in areas where armed forces are redeploying addressed.
    • Evaluation of the IDDRP activities to inform special groups and multi year strategies undertaken.
  • Disabled Former Combatants:
    • Disabled former combatants screened and registered.
    • Strategies for effective support for reintegration designed.
    • Pilot reintegration activities conducted.
    • Evaluation of pilot activities to inform special groups and multi-year strategies undertaken.
