UNMIS Gives Football a Boost in Juba

Two civil military cooperation (CIMIC) quick impact projects (QIPs) were handed over by the Juba Sector Commander to the Vice-President of the Football Association at a ceremony in Juba Stadium on 18 May. The projects provided football gear (worth $24,000) to several football clubs from Juba, and set up a water and sanitation system in the stadium (worth $10,550).

As football is a popular sport among Juba youth, the two projects have been a boon for both players and spectators visiting the stadium. UNMIS' efforts, which will also benefit other sports in Juba, were highly appreciated by local people from all walks of life.
