Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Chief of the Unit, the Radio Presenter performs the following duties

  • Serve as host of Live UNMIS progrommmes and continuity announcer
  • Produce and Present UNMIS programmes as required
  • Liaise with relevant government institutions and civil society in the promotion of activities related to good governance and stability of new features
  • Undertake research programes of issues affecting the general public for special features
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Section Head and the Unit Chief.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of High School education supplemented by training in mass communication, journalist and public relations. Additional training/internship in related fields with a UN agency or NGO an asset. A degree would be an asset.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of working experience in the related field. Excellent computer skills particularly in software applications will be an advantage.
  • Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in Sudan an asset.
