Duties and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Head of Section/Unit the Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Recruitment and Placement
- Assist in Processing applications for vacancies, including preparing and maintaining case files for candidates, ensuring and monitoring the transfer of files of candidates between offices, arranging for interviews,
- Assist in the filling of posts, including initiating and follow up on reference checks and academic verifications ensuring the completion of the pre-recruitment formalities, including preparing and dispatching offers of appointment;
- Prepare agenda and provide relevant documentation required for recruitment related meetings;
- Prepare Personnel Actions and Letters of Appointments
- Administration of Entitlements:
- Review and process requests for entitlements and claims;
- Assist in the review and processing of data pertaining to conditions of service;
General
- Provide general office support services; draft and/or process a variety of correspondence and other communications;
- Set up and maintain reference files/records (electronic and paper);
- Undertake research on a range of Human Resources related issues and assist in the preparation of notes/reports;
- Maintain automated database containing Human Resources related statistics and prepare periodic reports;
- Assist in preparation of necessary documentation for distribution to various offices, departments and overseas offices;
- Perform other duties as required;

- Communications - Proven ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to effectively communicate orally;
- Teamwork - Strong inter-personal skills and; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma complemented by Coursework or training in human resources management. A degree in Management and Human Resources an asset.
- Experience: At least 4-6 years of responsible experience, including at least three years in the field of administration, human resources management or other related fields. Previous experience with UN/NGO an asset.
- Necessary skills: Very good computer skills, word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and human resources databases. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Good sense of confidentiality, impartiality and ability to work under pressure.
- Language: A very good command of English and Arabic with excellent communication and drafting skills. Very good computer skills.
