Duties and responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of Facilities Management Officer of the General Services Section, the incumbent will perform the following functions:

  • Orders and controls the cleaning materials.
  • Liaises with food cells for rations control fuel cell for provision/control of diesel fuel.
  • Maintains stock/ control records on all UN Owned equipment in assigned camp(s).
  • Checks all contract invoices before presentation to the sector admin/Logistics services connected matters.
  • Maintains Liaison and resolves disputes/complaints from staff regarding contractors' performance.
  • Performs other camp/Building Management takes as required such as inspection of cleaning and maintenance of the camp.
  • Ensures removal of garbage and walkabout inspection of premises.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Administrative/ Logistic officer.

  • Planning and organizing -Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor own work plan those under his/her supervision.
  • Leadership- strong managerial/supervisory skills, tact and negotiating skills, good judgment and decision -making skills.
  • Communication-Proven ability to write in clear and concise manner and orally
  • Communication effectively- Ability to prepare report and defend recommendations.
  • Technological Awareness-Solid computer skills including proficiency in word processing spreadsheets and relevant software packages.
  • Teamwork-Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in multi -culture ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of High School education, supplemented by technical/vocational Training in catering and hotel management.
  • Experience: At least four (4) years of relevant experience. Experience in camp management with International NGO or UN Agencies an asset. Valid national Driving License (vehicle) is desirable.
  • Language: Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic
